<p><strong>Each of your eyes has the following muscles that govern the functioning of your eyes:</strong></p>
<li>Superior oblique</li>
<li>Superior rectus</li>
<li>External rectus</li>
<li>Inferior oblique</li>
<li>Internal rectus   </li>
<li>Inferior rectus</li>
<p>To preserve as well as improve the functioning of these muscles, you need to exercise them on a regular basis, initiated by a ‘warm-up’, which in this case involves rolling your eyes for a few seconds. Remember, your level of vision-fitness will largely depend on your ability to coordinate the movement of these eye muscles.</p>
<p><strong>Here are the instructions that can help you maintain eye health.</strong></p>
<li>1. Sit comfortably in a low chair so that your feet stay firmly on the ground and hands rest on the arm rests of the chair. Take a couple of deep breaths before stretching your eyes as far as possible and inhale slowly till your lungs are filled up with air. Hold the breath for a few seconds, stretch the eye muscles into a downward position and exhale slowly until the lungs are completely empty. Repeat the exercise three more times (up and down movement) in the same way.</li>
<li>2. Start stretching to the right by stretching up to the right direction and then to the left, ending up by stretching up to the left and down again to the right. But do not overstrain while doing this exercise, because that will not serve the purpose at all, and you will be left with strained eye muscles.</li>
<li>3. Provide relief to the eye muscles by cupping the eyes. This is achieved by a simple method of covering the eyes (closed) with the palm of your hand, the fingers overlapping each other over the bridge of your nose when you feel that darkness has fully engulfed the eyes. Hold this position for a minute or two, till you get a cooling sensation in your eyes and the mind is free of weariness. Count 50 breaths before releasing palms. Some call this ‘meditation of the eyes’. Perhaps they are right.</li>
<p><strong>Alternative Tips to Improve Health of the Eye</strong></p>
<p>Hold your thumb a few inches away from your eyes and try focusing your eyes on it. Then bring the thumb slowly towards your nose with the eyes still riveted on it. This will make you feel as if your eye muscles are being pulled in. The inner rectus muscles, which are the turning-in muscles, get exercised in this process. These muscles are vital for focusing. You can also remove the thumb, sit straight, focus your eyes on the window first and look far beyond towards the horizon next. Repeat this for several times till you feel your eyes are tired. Studies reveal that more than 300,000 people die of obesity in the country every year. Quite alarmingly, the figure is increasing because people in their teens too are affected now. No wonder, we are all so worried about finding new ways to losing weight. However, the answer seems more difficult than it was expected initially. Some of the key reasons behind this disillusionment include the lack of consistence, and allurement towards fast foods or junk foods. However, here we will overlook these usual pitfalls, and would rather concentrate on providing some powerful weight loss tips that would allow people to maintain health. The right diet certainly plays a major role in this.</p>
<p><strong>Tip1</strong>: You must reschedule your eating habits. Instead of having three conventional heavy meals (breakfast + lunch + dinner) in a day, go for several small meals at intervals of 4 to 5 hours during your waking hours. You could consume raw vegetables and salads, as also a cup of almond and pistachios. This will suppress your appetite for sometime on the one hand, while boosting your rate of metabolism on the other. With better metabolism, you can burn fat, and yet, you won’t have to put in a lot of extra effort.</p>

But this is really very important. That’s because, everyone will tell you about what you can’t eat, but no one mentions what you can consume. And so, this article takes on this subject.</p>
<p>It may also prove somewhat singular since it does not prevent you to go anywhere near a sundae to satisfy your sweet teeth once in a blue moon. It merely restrains you about consuming things that are more sugary than anything else. Why, you can eat a mighty lot of things that are low in sugar, salt and fat. Take fruits and vegetables as much as you can, except fruits that are high in fructose<em> </em>(fruit sugar). In fact, you can have a healthy breakfast by eating apples/wood apples/kiwi fruit/citrus fruits along with a few pieces of toasted brown bread with a poached egg – and wash down everything by taking a cup of sugarless Brazilian black coffee.</p>
<p>As for lunch and dinner, go for food that contains plenty of fiber, since it inhibits the requirement of insulin in the body. Moreover, a high fiber diet is rich in chromium, which will help you in the treatment of diabetes. Let your menu contain a little bit of unpolished rice; sea fish or sweet water fishes cooked in olive oil or peanut oil; and some vegetables such as spinach, kale, cucumber, carrot, cabbage and onions lightly cooked in olive oil. Onions should preferably be taken raw. Also good are lentils that are boiled and seasoned, while sprouted kidney beans can also be consumed raw. Consume raw vegetables more as compared to cooked ones, because when cooked, it will increase the level of blood sugar quickly. Your lunch menu may also contain one helping of non-fat yogurt, non-fat cheese and a glass of skim milk to round it off.</p>

Nevertheless, studies reveal that most children and adolescents have gingivitis, which is the opening stage of a periodontal disease. And in some cases, advanced forms of periodontal diseases, though rare, can also occur in children. Significance of dental health for kids therefore, is an essential issue that parents should never overlook, no matter whether the kid is skinny or overweight.</p>
<p>Chronic gingivitis, unfortunately, is common with most US children who are aged between 2 and 5 years (yes, as early as that), while many kids aged between 12 and 15 years show this problem as well. Amazingly enough, the disease may persist in most, even though it is preventable as well as treatable with routine brushing, flossing and professional dental care. Effective oral hygiene habits, as a matter of routine, should be insisted upon children right from infancy, so that it becomes a way of life in later years. This will prevent the formation of cavities or gingivitis during the adult ages.</p>
<p>In other words, if the parent stresses the importance of dental health from a very young age, the young person will carry the learning into his/her future, and this will mean better oral health.</p>
<p>According to the American Dental Association, parents should encourage cleaning their baby’s teeth right from the time the baby develops the teeth. Healthy teeth and gums, they argue, are not only essential for proper chewing of food, but it is also imperative for effective digestion, and also for clarity of speech. Parents should also make it a point to visit the local pediatric dentist with their children so that any periodontal problem is diagnosed early and treated right away.</p>
<p>With very small children, the baby’s gums may be wiped with a moist wash cloth to prevent accumulation of plaque on the gums. However, as soon as the baby’s first set of teeth begins to erupt, they may be brushed gently with especially formulated soft-bristled toothbrush, using a touch of fluoridated baby toothpaste.</p>
<p>Parents should also ask small children to spit out the remnants of toothpaste left in the mouth instead of swallowing it, as most off them are inclined to do so. The parents may provide them with non-fluoridated toothpaste, for all those who are not able to do this, till they can spit out the used toothpaste in the mouth themselves.</p>
<p>As the child crosses the age of 3, parents should teach him or her, the technique of using the toothbrush – the proper way of holding it, benefits of horizontal brushing, vertical brushing, and other such issues. Next are the use of dental floss and its utility, which the child will come to learn from the dad or mom after reaching the age of 4. And, once these dental health routines are fully embedded in the young mind, it will remain intact till the dying days. Remember, oral health for kids is as essential as protecting them against hazardous substances. And so, the issue should be treated as extremely important.</p>
